Mr. George Wear - 3 - October 29, 1986
The Division also has the following comments on the remainder of the
production work associated with the a haul road backfilling:
a. Productivity for the 14G grader may have been overestimated. The
Division estimates that 6074 feet/day (based on 1 .57 ac/hr) could
be graded. However, with the Division's proposal only one year of
grading would be necessary. The cost would therefore be:
56,200 feet
6074 eet day x 8 hr x $60.00/hr = $4,441 .00
b. The Division has calculated backhoe production at approximately
170 lcy/ hr. Mid-Continent's estimates of 200 lcy/hr, as well as
the dozer grading figure, are acceptable.
3) The Division requires further information on the Rock Tunnel to
prep plant backfilling and grading plan. Cross-sections and volumes
must be submitted for the portal and bin benches. The plan for the
bin bench area in particular appears to be significantly different
from the approved plan, which called for 63,000 c.y. of fill . In
addition, backfilling of the bins must be calculated despite the
fact that they have not yet been built. As with the bin cover
demolition, any approved activity must be bonded. In order to
delete these activities from the bond, Mid-Continent would have to
request that the Division withdraw approval for these activities.
Backfilling costs for the conveyor corridor are satisfactory.
4) For the prep plant backfilling costs, Mid-Continent has
overestimated dozer productivity. The Division has calculated this
as follows:
Push Distance 100 feet
Unadjusted Production 940 lcy/hr
Correction Factors
Operator .75
Material .80
Efficiency .83
Altitude .95
Adjusted Production T45 lcy/hr
50,500 lcy
Cy/hr x $118.00/hr = $13,391 .00
This would raise the total cost to $149,561 .00
III. Topsoiling
1 ) In order to assess Mid-Continents retopsoiling plans, the Division
requires the following information:
