the equipment at the Methane House are vaccuum pumps for evacuating <br /> the methane from the mine and a compressor to increase the <br /> pressure for transmission to the preparation plant . Methane at <br /> concentrations of 40 to 80% is conveyed approximately three miles <br /> from the compressor house via a four inch pipeline to the preparation <br /> plant . That portion of the pipeline right of way (Exhibit II-B- <br /> 2b & d) that is on public lands is authorized by a US Forest <br /> Service special use permit . <br /> (5) Sewage treatment <br /> Sewage treatment at the Coal Basin service <br /> and administrative complex is located adjacent to the office, <br /> bathhouse and training center . The facility is composed of a <br /> septic tank and leach fields and has been permitted by the Pitkin <br /> County Sanitarian (Chapter I, Section G) . The facility is <br /> designed to treat contaminated effluent produced by the office, <br /> and bathhouse facilities . <br /> (6) Water system <br /> Water for the Coal Basin administrative <br /> complex is obtained from groundwater wells which have been <br /> permitted by the Department of Natural Resources - Water Resource <br /> Division (Chapter I, Section G) . Commercially bottled drinking <br /> water is provided for the administrative complex, all mines <br /> and shop facilities . <br /> (7) Electrical transmission <br /> Public Service Company of Colorado (PSC) <br /> provides electric power to the Coal Basin mining complex. A 69 <br /> KV line generally parallels the access road from Redstone into <br /> the basin to a substation (PSC Redstone Sub . ) near the preparation <br /> J1 3 <br />
