ASPEN WILDERNESS W0RI(5HO?,,,.
box 90;5- "peA., co to rado S6f
Eric Lane
State Weed Coordinator
Colorado Department of Agriculture
700 Kipling Street, Suite 4000
Lakewood, CO 80215
Dear Mr. Lane:
The Aspen Wilderness Workshop would like to strongly support the
Noxious Weed Grant Application being submitted by the Colorado Division
of Minerals and Geology in partnership with Pitkin County.
The Aspen Wilderness Workshop currently assists the U.S. Forest
Service with noxious weed inventories on Forest Service lands. We
document and measure areas of infestation on the Forest with particular
attention given to conducting the inventories in areas which are conducive
to the rapid spread of noxious weeds.
We have offered to assist this project by aiding with the monitoring of
the treatment areas. We have field staff that can work with the applicants of
this project to provide assistance where it is most needed in the field. We
have offered to provide $200 worth of staff time to the project.
We have seen firsthand the nature of problem associated with noxious
weeds on public and lands and we support any measures which can be taken
to curtail the spread of weeds on the Forest. We also desire to see the
reclamation work be a success in Coal Basin. We encourage you to support
this application.
Sincerely,
--- --I A
—Jamey Fidel, Project Coordinator
