A slightly modified and signed copy of Amendment No. 7 is enclosed.
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is in the process of accomplishing
reclamation of the Coal Basin Mine in western Pitkin County. Planting of trees is a
necessary component of successful reclamation. A large portion of this high altitude
coal mine is situated on National Forest System lands. The funds which National
Arbor Day Foundation will provide the Division will be used to purchase trees to be
planted on these public lands, in order to more fully complete reclamation of this
area. We anticipate that a large percentage of the trees will be planted by
community-based volunteer organizations and local schools.
Please feel free to contact me at (303) 866-3567 regarding transfer of funds or if you
have questions or comments regarding the Collection Agreement or Amendment
No. 7. Steve Renner is available at (970) 241-0336 if you care to discuss other
aspects of the tree planting project at Coal Basin.
Sincerely,
Michael B.
Director
cc: David Bucknam
Loretta Pineda
Steve Renner
MAoss\gaw\Sander mbl
