Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
Project Application
Dear Agency Friend:
Thank you for your expression of interest in a VOC project partnership. Inside you will
find the application form.
The project selection process works as follows: We are currently taking applications for
projects to be implemented during the 1997 season and/or seasons two or three years
down the road. Ideally we should receive your application by Friday, April26, 1996. Our
Project Selection Committee meets shortly after that date, at which time we assign team
leaders to scout proposals. The project scout will contact you to make arrangements to
meet with you and tour the proposed project site sometime between May and the end of
July. Scouts will then present their findings to the Project Selection Committee during
meetings held throughout the summer. The committee evaluates the proposed projects
and makes a recommendation to the VOC Board in the fall regarding the proposed slate of
1997 projects, as well as any projects for subsequent years that require early approval. If
you need to know of project approval prior to mid-September 1996 for internal planning
and budget purposes, indicate such on Question 9 of Section Two.
Primary consideration for projects for the 1997 season will be given to those applications
received by Friday, April 26, 1996. However, applications received after April will be
considered as our calendar permits. Please let us know if you will not be able to send in
your application by the end of April. Note: It is not necessary for your project planning to
be totally completed in order to submit an application - we would be happy to work with
you to develop your project concept further. Your completed application is the best way
to get this process started.
Once a project has been selected and approved by our board, a volunteer project planning
team is put into place. We expect you to provide one person from your agency to work
with this team throughout the project planning process to assure that your vision is carried
out by VOC.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to call Alice Freese at the VOC
office should you have any questions about this process.
Sincerely,
The VOC Project Selection Committee
600 South Marion Parkway • Denver, CO 80209 • (303) 715-1010 • Fax(303) 715-1212
