r
Section Three:
Below is a list of items we consider essential to the successful implementation of a volunteer project. On
many VOC projects,we take responsibility for all or most of these items. However, in selecting a project it is
important to know what will be required of us. Please use the scale from 1 to 5,explained below,to indicate
the partnership you envision. Important Note: Do not feel that the more you take on, the more likely we will
be to select your project! Projects are selected based on whether they afford a positive, rewarding volunteer
experience: Is there an educational component to the project? What is the volunteer fun factor? What is the
value to the citizens of Colorado? In selecting projects for the season, we also seek a wide mix of project
types and environmental issues, size and complexity, and geographic and ecological locations.
VOC conducts 8 to 12 projects per season. As you know, each one requires considerable resources. Even
though projects are not selected based on how little is required of VOC, the reality is that we may consider
selecting more projects if some projects require less resources from us.
Please indicate next to the items below, where you would like responsibility to lie by using the scale from 1 to 5.
1 — We don't have a clue! VOC needs to handle this area.
2 — We have minimal experience, but would like to help out in this area.
3 — Let's share this responsibility.
4 — We'll take the lead, but we'd like some assistance.
5 — Been there. Done that. Can handle this area. VOC get our of our way!
Project funding
Project design
Translating the construction drawings and notes for volunteer crew construction
Tools for project day
Volunteer recruitment
The care and feeding of volunteers on project site
Supervision for volunteer crew(e.g.crew leaders)
Project day logistics:safety network,parking arrangements,sanitation needs,overnight
accommodations(if necessary),etc.
Pre-project communication/information to registered volunteers
Section Four:
I d Please attach any additional information you feel is important to this project.
