The mine has been sealed. The portals have been backfiiled and vegetated as par Of
reclamation.

All property formerly owned by Mid-Continent Resources in this area has been
acquired and is now owned by the U.S. Forest Service.
The mine was sealed, with a draining seal, as part of reclamation activity car7ied out ir.
1993 by Mid-Continent. A pipe carries flows from the seal to a rock sump, from whic';; it
discharges. Intermittent flows occur, during the spring, as part of snowmelt.
DMG took over reclamation in 1994, and subsequently reclaimed the road to Mine8,
including removal of the large culvert crossings on Oil Well and Coal Creek(s). As a
result, it is very difficult to access the mine site. Access by cars, trucks and 'heavy
equipment would be destructive of the previous reclamation, and is infeasible.
