r•, 4`1 -
Task 4. Riprap Placement
This task includes- furnishing and placing riprap into the
structure prior to pouring concrete, and replacing riprap
at the bend in the stream downstream from the drop
structure. Some riprap is available onsite by salvaging
rock which was washed out of the drop structure and
deposited downstream, however, some additional rock must
be imported to complete the job as specified. Riprap
shall consist of nominal 2 ft sized boulders and slabs of
durable rock- (granite or limestone; sandstone boulders
are not acceptable) . The rock will be placed into the
prepared foundation area among the projecting steel
anchor bars, and also into the damaged areas of the
existing structure (the two holes in the face of the drop
itself) . The project Manager must inspect the work at
this point prior to proceeding with concrete placement.
b
Task 5. Concrete Placement
This task includes furnishing and pouring concrete into
the riprap structure and damaged areas of the existing
-face of the drop itself. Concrete shall be made using
Type II Portland cement conforming to ASTM C 150. The
mix shall be -designed to produce a minimum compressive
strength of 2000 psi at the 28 day test. Concrete shall
be worked into the rock by means of a suitable mechanical
vibrator -and hand spading so that concrete completely
fills the voids within the rock and anchor bar mat. The
Project Manager must be on site during the concrete
pouring operation.
III. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
Payment for each task shall be made on a lump sum basis
for each item as set forth in the Bid Schedule.
Additional concrete shall only be used at the direction
of- the Project Manager.
