0 <br />"Transportation" means transport of persons or property by motor vehicle, bus, <br />truck, railroad, light rail, mass transit, airplane, bicycle, or any other form of <br />transport. Transportation includes pedestrian transportation. <br />"Trauma scene waste" means waste generated by the decontamination of <br />accident scenes, crime scenes, suicides and other scenes of serious human injury <br />or death. Trauma scene waste is a special category of medical waste that is <br />comprised of other categories of medical waste, including blood and body fluids, <br />pathological waste, pharmaceutical waste, potentially infectious waste and various <br />types of sharps. This waste stream includes, but is not limited to, contaminated <br />flooring, furniture, drywall, clothing, bedding, cleaning solutions, personal <br />protective equipment (PPE), wipes and absorbents, and sharps contaminated with <br />r blood and body fluids or other potentially infectious material. <br />"Treatment" means performing a type of solid waste disposal, which includes but <br />is not limited to, shredding, baling, liquid evaporation, and nonbeneficial sludge <br />landspreading. <br />"Underground source of drinking water" means an aquifer or its portion: <br />(a) Which supplies any public water system, or which contains a sufficient quantity <br />of ground water to supply a public water system; and <br />(b) Currently supplies drinking water for human consumption, or contains fewer <br />than 10,000 mg /I total dissolved solids. <br />"Unstable area" means a location that is susceptible to natural or man - induced <br />events or forces capable of impairing the integrity of some or all of the landfill <br />structural components which are necessary for the prevention of releases from a <br />landfill. "Unstable areas" can include poor foundation conditions, areas susceptible <br />to mass movements, and karst terrains. <br />"Uppermost aquifer" means the aquifer nearest the ground surface as well as <br />other aquifers which are hydraulically connected with this aquifer within the facility <br />boundary or adjacent to the facility boundary. <br />• <br />"Used lead -acid battery" as used in Section 16 of these Regulations means any <br />lead -acid battery that is no longer functional or no longer used for its primary <br />purpose. <br />"Used oil" as used in Section 16 of these Regulations means any residentially <br />generated motor oil, refined from crude oil or a synthetic oil, that has been used <br />and as a result of that use is contaminated by physical or chemical impurities. <br />"Verm icom posting" means an activity that produces earthworm castings through <br />earthworm activity associated with consumption of organic materials. <br />September 30, 2011 <br />0 <br />25 <br />
