At a minimum the client, CQA <br />Engineer and the installer must be present and the installer will provide the CQA Engineer with seam <br />layout drawings. A seam numbering system will be agreed upon by the installer and the CQA <br />Engineer that is compatible with the GCL roll numbering system. Copies of warranties for the <br />manufacturer and installer must also be provided to the CQA Engineer at this time <br />• The CQA engineer and GCL installer will observe, inspect and approve the completed foundation <br />layer just prior to installing the GCL <br />• CQA Engineer will examine GCL rolls upon delivery and note any damage to covering, as well as <br />possible damage to the product itself requiring further inspection. CQA Engineer will also verify the <br />conditions at which the GCL is being stored on the project site <br />• CQA Engineer will clearly mark rejected rolls due to severe flaws and any minor repairable flaws <br />• CQA Engineer will observe and inspect the materials as they are unrolled and placed upon the <br />foundation layer. Areas requiring repairs will be marked in the field by the CQA Engineer. Repairs <br />shall be made using a patch from another piece of GCL secured in place with a 12 inch wide <br />minimum overlap in all directions. Dry bentonite powder will be placed between the overlapped <br />materials. Depending on location of patch, additional measures may be required to keep patch in <br />place <br />• GCL panels shall be placed such that the longitudinal panel seams are running parallel to direction of <br />slope. All GCL panels shall lay flat with no wrinkles or folds <br />NWCC INC. <br />
