Areas requiring repairs will be marked in the field by <br />the CQA Engineer. Repairs shall be made using a patch from another piece of geotextile secured in <br />place with a 6 inch wide minimum overlap in all directions. The patch will be secured by sewing or <br />heat bonding in all directions <br />• Geotextile seams will be continuously sewn or welded with a minimum overlap of 3 inches. <br />• CQA Engineer will observe and document that installer has followed all requirements for placing, <br />seaming and repairing geotextile. <br />GCL <br />The GCL (geosynthetic clay liner) to be used in the landfill cap/final soil cover will consist of Bentomat <br />CL or an equivalent product. The GCL shall consist of a layer of natural sodium bentonite clay <br />encapsulated between two geotextiles. Only reinforced GCL will be used. If an alternate type of GCL is <br />proposed by the installer, independent test results demonstrating that the product substantially meets all of <br />the requirements of this section must be submitted to CQA Engineer prior to placement. The GCL used <br />at this project shall meet the properties listed in the following table. <br />NWCC INC. <br />
