Unconsolidated coarse talus?
Response: The area upon which waste will be deposited is
wholly underlain by loose talus.
Question No. 3 : What is the estimated areal extent of the
ground covered by this dump?
Response: . 21 acres.
Question No. 4 : What is the estimated approximate downhill
spillage of this material , i .e. , how will the material be
handled to minimize spillage into Arastra Creek?
Response: The dump will extend roughly 220 feet down
slope, leaving some 300 feet of undisturbed talus between
the dump toe and the valley bottom. The talus is extremely
coarse and rough and no difficulty is anticipating in
keeping dump rock at close quarters to the dump site. There
is no surface stream at this point of Arastra Creek .
Surface water is first found at the spring noted on the
enclosed location map some 3000 feet downstream.
Question 5: Please provide an acid-base analysis and
acid-mitigation plan of the disposed waste rock.
Response: As rock from the bedrock cross cut is made
available acid-base analyses will be made, and an
appropriate acid-mitigation plan will be proposed .
Question 6 : Please consider setting aside some talus to be
dumped downslope such that the waste rock dump can be
covered .
Response: Talus , which is currently being excavated , has
already been stockpiled along the uphill segment of the
access road, raising the grade, and to each side of the
excavation. Talus is being saved for use as a dump cover to
the extent that storage space is available .
Question 7 : Please address the final reclamation of the
alit, storage and turnaround area if the site will not be
developed for mining.
Response: Stored talus will be pushed over the dump to
cover the fresh cross cut material . The adit itself will
