MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D (cont)
and will be responsible for safety during a blasting event. No
explosives will stored on the site.
McAtee Construction Co. will maintain information on each
blasting event at the mine and make it available to the Division
upon request. The information will contain the date, time,
charge size and blasting material type used. A copy f the
explosives license and name of the contractors person el respon-
sible for detonation of the charge will be kept also.
There is a single drainage ditch shown on MAP EXHIBIT C. At
some time in the future we will cross the ditch to mine Stage II.
This will involve building a bridge or placing culverts in the
ditch. Another alternative may be to relocate the ditch around
the south and east sides of the mine or mining thru the ditch and
allow the water to enter the excavated area and pass thru the
lake, exiting on the east side. If a permit is needed for any of
these options it will be obtained from the jurisdictional agency
prior to the activity taking place. In addition, a Technical
Revision showing the proposed change will be filed with the
Division prior to making the change.
Wherever the mining operation is adjacent to the ditch and
around the mine perimeter a 100 foot mining setback will be
maintained to allow for sloping as discussed above. All the
setbacks will be used as areas to stockpile growth medium and
will contain access roads around the mined area. The setback
lines on the map are the indication of the mining limits, i.e.
the top of the slope into the lake area. Once the bank slopes
are established and we are assured the setbacks will no longer be
disturbed they will be reclaimed in the prescribed manner. As
noted above the area needing reclamation will be no more than
16.00 acres ± at one time.
All interior pit slopes will be maintained with a pit -ward
attitude so that there will be no drainage off the affected land.
This same slope management plan will prevent any offsite slides
or other disruptions, and will also address some of the storm -
water runoff questions arising from the Clean Water Act. No
water will be discharged from the pit, but we will be applying
for a Colorado Pollutant Discharge System (CPDS) permit to
address the stormwater management at the mine.
McAtee Construction Co. has adequate water available to meet
the requirements for evaporative and process losses on the 5.10
acres of the current mine. The existing Augmentation Plan (case
#2000CW185) and well permit (68697F) will be revised prior to any
new water being exposed. Current water information can be found
in Exhibit G - Water.
11
