The soil in and around the sediment pond does not appear to <br />have any signs of oil /hydrocarbon staining (photo 2). <br />Two ponds were noted in the suspected area of the Nu Mine portal from the aerial photographs (photo 3). The <br />southern pond is up gradient from the suspected portal, contains water and does not appear to be discharging. The <br />northern pond is down gradient from the suspected portal and is dry. The soil in and around the northern pond <br />does not appear to have any signs of oil/hydrocarbon staining.
