Approximately 480 cubic yards (240 cubic yards per
layer) of select structural fill was used between geogrid layers in 6 -inch compacted lifts.
Approximately 481 cubic yards of select structural fill was used above the final layer of geogrid in
a 12 -inch compacted lift. Prior to compaction, the select structural fill material was moisture
conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck. Compaction of the select structural fill was then
performed using a 10 -ton smooth drum compactor using the static method.
The crown pillar at Underground Working #4073 was removed using a CAT 330 excavator and
observation was performed by an AMEC field representative. The working was completely
removed during excavation and competent rock was encountered. A CAT 330 excavator was
MEW Weekly Report WE 07.14.2012
