ameO D) Overburden Fill Placement Overburden fill material was delivered from CC &V Mine Operations throughout both day and night shifts. Ames CAT D -10 dozers were used to maintain the borrow area. A CAT 993 front -end loader and a CAT 992 front -end loader were used to load overburden fill material into CAT 40 -ton articulating, CAT 773, and CAT 777 haul trucks. Overburden fill was placed in the areas shown on Figure 1. Overburden fill was placed in 36" to 40" loose lifts using various CAT dozers, keying into existing slopes when necessary. Various CAT excavators with a hammer attachments "broke up" oversize boulders before they were placed in the fill. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique was applicable). E) Slope Contouring Slope contouring was performed using a John Deere 850 excavator. Material generated during slope contouring was placed as overburden fill at the top of the slope. F) Soil Liner Fill (SLF) Setup of the SLF processing plant at the East Cresson Clay borrow was performed during. Processing is scheduled to begin Monday May 28, 2012. G) Drain Cover Fill (DCF) Drain Cover Fill (DCF) placement was performed covering the existing exposed Phase IV geomembrane. DCF was hauled to the area using CAT 40 -ton articulating haul trucks loaded by a CAT 988 front -end loader. The DCF was placed in a two foot lifts using a CAT D -6 dozer. Pipe bedding material was also placed over the HDPE pipe in the area using the same process. II) Underground Mine Workings A) Discovery No new Underground Workings were encountered during the week. B) Drilling Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4081 using two track mounted drill rigs. A drill pattern was set out by an AMEC field representative. Eighty holes were drilled encountering twenty -one voids. An approximate total of 4,000 linear feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed by Ames. Blast pattern drilling was performed at Underground Workings #4052 and #4058, preparing to collapse a portion of the crown pillar. MEW Weekly Report WE 05.26.2012
