water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, <br />passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique was applicable). <br />D) Structures <br />Relocation of the structure at Underground Working #4008 (Morning Glory) was performed by <br />Frontier Environmental Services Inc. <br />III) Geosynthetics <br />A) Geomembrane Installation <br />No work performed during the week. <br />B) Anchor Trench <br />No work performed during the week. <br />Q Geomembrane Exposure <br />No work performed during the week. <br />D) Geomembrane Acceptance <br />No work performed during the week. <br />IV) Storm Water Management <br />A) Best Management Practices (BMP) <br />Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the Mill Site Earthworks project. <br />Construction of a catch berm at the toe of the Mill Site fill for any "stray" rocks from the fill <br />placement. Construction of a storm water channel was also performed using a Hitachi 350 <br />excavator. A channel was constructed on the upstream toe of the catch berm and check dams <br />were placed approximately every 50 vertical feet. <br />CQA ACTIVITIES: <br />SUMMARY: <br />The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction <br />activities of the contractor. <br />AMEC observed clear and grub activities performed by Seedmasters within the Mill Site Earthworks <br />project. <br />AMEC observed stripping and relocation of topsoil from within the Mill Site Earthworks project. <br />AMEC observed subgrade preparation within the Mill Site Earthworks project prior to structural fill <br />placement. Subgrade temperatures were monitored prior to fill placement. <br />AMEC observed excavation and placement of structural fill within the Mill Site Earthworks project. <br />Ambient, existing, and placed fill temperatures were monitored throughout the week. <br />AMEC observed remediation of UG #4000. <br />AMEC observed Frontier Environmental Services Inc. relocate the structure at UG#4008. <br />MEW Weekly Report WE 02.04.2012 <br />
