"M
The timbers and any unsuitable materials were removed and hauled to a stockpile designated by
CC &V. An AMEC field representative observed the investigation and remediation.
D) Underdrain
Construction of the Secondary underdrain under the Mill Site fill continued using a CAT 330
excavator to excavate approximately 270 linear feet of a 3'x4' trench along the surveyed
alignment. The trench was as -built surveyed by Ames. 12 oz/yd 2 geotextile and a 2' lift of
Underdrain Filter Material (UFM) was then placed in the trench, "burrito wrapping" the UFM
material with the geotextile. A 6 -inch lift of select structural fill (SSF) was then placed over the
geotextile using a CAT 950 front -end loader. The SSF material was moisture conditioned and
compacted using a vibratory plate compactor. A total of 870 linear feet of Secondary Underdrain
was installed. Structural fill placement was then performed over the underdrain. Underdrain
construction was observed by an AMEC field representative and found to be constructed in
accordance with design drawings and project specifications.
E) Structures
Relocation of the structure at Underground Working #4043 (The Wedge) was performed by
Frontier Environmental Services Inc.
III) Geosynthetics
A) Geomembrane Installation
No work performed during the week.
B) Anchor Trench
No work performed during the week.
C) Geomembrane Exposure
No work performed during the week.
D) Geomembrane Acceptance
No work performed during the week.
IV) Storm Water Management
A) Best Management Practices (BMP)
Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the Mill Site Earthworks project.
CQA ACTIVITIES:
SUMMARY:
The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction
activities of the contractor.
AMEC observed clear and grub activities performed by Seedmasters within the Mill Site Earthworks
project.
AMEC observed stripping and relocation of topsoil from within the Mill Site Earthworks project.
MEW Weekly Report WE 02.18.2012
