approximate total of 1,350 linear feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed
by Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4045. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Thirty -one holes were drilled encountering no voids. An
approximate total of 1,550 linear feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed
by Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4046. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Sixteen holes were drilled encountering one void. An approximate
total of 800 linear feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed by Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4047. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Fifteen holes were drilled encountering three voids. An
approximate total of 750 lineal feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed by
Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4048. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Ten holes were drilled encountering no voids. An approximate total
of 500 lineal feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed by Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4051. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Twenty -two holes were drilled encountering no voids. An
approximate total of 1,100 lineal feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed
by Ames.
Confirmatory drilling was performed at Underground Working #4052. A drill pattern was set out by
an AMEC field representative. Eleven holes were drilled encountering four voids. An approximate
total of 550 lineal feet was drilled. As -built survey of the drill holes was performed by Ames.
Grouting of missed (non -void) confirmatory drill holes was performed at Underground Workings
#4028, #4029, #4039, and #4040. A grout pump and laborers were used to place bentonite grout
into the "miss" drill holes.
Q Remediation
Underground Working #4014 was investigated using a Hitachi 350 excavator and observation
was performed by an AMEC field representative. Excavation of the area was performed and it
was found to be a shallow surface working. The native material was found to be consistent and all
signs of a significant working were removed. The working was backfilled with structural fill in 18"
to 24" lifts using various CAT dozers. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a tandem axle
water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor,
passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique as applicable).
A blast was performed at Underground Workings #4028, #4029, and #4031 collapsing the crown
pillars above the voids identified during confirmatory drilling. A Hitachi 350 excavator was used to
excavate the blasted material from Underground Working #4028.
Investigation and remediation of Underground Working #4050 was performed using a CAT 330
excavator to remove the timbers and rail that could possibly be an old narrow gauge rail bridge.
MEW Weekly Report WE 02.18.2012
