PART II - SAMPLING AND LAB METHODS :
The Sunnyside continued to upgrade the quantity and quality of
water sampling in 1988 . Improvements in field methods include
instr.eam measurement of DO, pH , and Conductivity. Filtering of
samples for dissolved metals analysis has been changed from usinq
a positive pressure hand pump to a volume filtration lab pump in
order to increase accuracy.
PART III - DATA RECORDS :
The Sunnyside continued to improve the water data base in 1988 to
better utilize the data collected over the years . The following
parameters are analyzed for and recorded on a spread sheet tyre
computer data base for all MLRD water quality monitoring sites .
Field
Parameters Lab Parameters Diss Metals
Station Labpfi TAlkCaCU3 Al Pb
Date Labcond2.5 THOCaC4"3 As (Total) Mn
Time TDS180 AcCaCo3 AsIII Hq
Sampler TDScalc bicarHCO3 AsV Ni
Lab TSS CO3 Ra Se
Quant. cfs Nitrate&Nitrite Chloride Cd Ag
Quant. mgd AmmoniaNitrogen Sulfate Cr (Total ) Zn
Fldtemp B Ca CrIII
F1dpH Fluoride Mg CrVI
F1dDO Ortho-phosphorus K Cu
Fldcond Cyanide Na FeIII
Fldcond25 NaAdsorbRatio Cation/Anion Balance
PART IV - WATER QUALITY DATA, APRIL 1988 TO MAY 1989:
Data collected for MLRD monitoring sites is presented in Tables
located at the end of this Section. Sunnyside has reported the
parameters required by the permit , although all parameters listed
in Part III of this Section are available on the Sunnyside
Database.
Brief comments on sites are as follows :
MAYFLOWER MILL ARIA:
(1 ) Tailings Pond 3 Ditch (SCTP3-1 , SCTP3-2) , Table 1 .
No flow was apparent in October 1988 . The April 1989 sample
shows an increase in TDS between SCTP3-1 (above the ponds)
and SCTP3-2 (below the ponds) . This is contrary to data
obtained in 1987 . It is noted teat the SCTP3-1 sample is
significantly lower, than previous data . These sites will be
sampled again in June 1989 .
- 7 -
