By increasing the outlet capacity of the reagent <br /> building, sufficient capacity will exist to eliminate all bypass . <br /> Terry Tunnel Area <br /> All of the waste material stockpiled at the Terry Tunnel (Plate <br /> 21 was removed during the summer of 1987 . Old rail removed from the <br /> portal was sold to recyclers and the piled debris was sorted and <br /> hauled away for disposal . Discarded rail timbers were given to local <br /> residents and builders . <br /> A 2000 gallon diesel storage tank was installed above ground <br /> level for servicing rubber tire equipment on F Level . This <br /> constitutes the only facility not associated with water treatment at <br /> the Terry Tunnel . <br /> Both of the settling ponds were cleaned during the summer of <br /> 1987 . Muds excavated from the ponds were disposed in pits along the <br /> east end of the mine bench. As part of pit construction a new 24 <br /> inch CMP spillway was installed in pond no. 2 . The spillway runs <br /> down the slope to near the bank of Eureka Gulch. In constructing the <br /> disposal pits, the gully which had been cut by discharge waters <br /> emitting from the previous spillway was filled and contoured. <br /> Planned activities for 1988 include establishing a vegetation <br /> test plot on the excavated pond muds, clean-out of the settling <br /> ponds, construction of a new reagent facility and passive water <br /> treatment system, and reclamation of an old waste dump on the south <br /> side of Eureka Gulch. Amendment 3 describes a plan for removing this <br /> dump and using the material to cover the toe of the Terry Tunnel mine <br /> bench. <br /> -4- <br />
