StINNYSIDE GOLD CORPORATION
AN ECHO OAT COMPANY
Mr. Wally Erickson, Reclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
484 Turner Drive, Bldg. F, Suite 101
Durango, CO 81301
RE: File No. M -77 -378
Post Mining Land Use Modification
Permit Area Reduction
TR -24 Submitial
Dear Mr. Erickson:
P.O. Box 177 • Silverton, CO 81433
Phone (970) 387 -5533 • Fax (970) 387 -5310
December 6, 2000
4 Visbn o M ° Piet(
O de
era's Geo/
o 9Y
Sunnyside Gold Corporation (SGC) submits this Technical Revision request to modify
the post- mining land use for land and facilities within the MLR permit boundary to meet
the attached request from the property owner. If this request is approved, SGC proposes
that the area be removed from the MLR permit area as the proposed use is not for mining
purposes and SGC has no control over the area and its use.
The mule barn / power plant / quonset / shop buildings and land was deeded to the San
Juan County Historical Society along with the Mayflower Mill (AM -004). This area had
been reclaimed but was being used for a staging area and topsoil stockpile area on the
southwest end by SGC therefore, it was not removed from the permit area at that time.
The Historical Society, as the property owner, has since moved towards using the area as
a business park. Several tenants have used the powerhouse building and area surrounding
the buildings. As you observed and noted in your annual inspection, the Historical
Society has placed fill material excavated from the site of their new museum building
under construction in Silverton over the vegetation on the site. SGC has no control over
this matter and according to their plans this is just the beginning of their site
development. Therefore, per the Historical Society's letter, SGC requests that the post -
mining land use be changed to business park and the area be released from SGC's MLR
Permit M -77 -378 as meeting the post- mining designated use.
Fier! e i vea
rte
8 2000
