NOTICE
APPLICATION FOR
MINING PERMIT
Western Fuels- Colorado, LLC, P.O. Box 33424,
Denver, Colorado 80233, has submitted to the Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety a complete
application for a new permit to mine coal in New Horizon
North Mine being planned to be developed and mined
near Nucla, Montrose County, Colorado. The lands
within the proposed permit area are owned by Garvey &
Co LLC, Thomas M and Peggy Jo Meehan, George E.L.
Glasier and Western Fuels - Colorado, LLC.
The mining area will be situated west of 2650
Rd, east of 2600 Rd, north of AA Rd and south of Z Rd.
The permit area contains tracts of land located in
Section 25 and Section 36, Township 47 North, Range 16
West of the New Mexico Principal Mendian, Montrose
County, Colorado being more particularly described as
follows:
The West S4 of Section 25, T. 47 N. R. 16 W. of the
New Mexico Principal Meridian, containing 317.23 acres
more or less, together with a tract of land 50 feet in width,
25 feet on each side of the following described centerline:
Beginning at a point on the southerly boundary of
said Section 25 from which the South 14 Comer of said
Section 25 lies South 87 °30'29" East 523.20 feet; thence

herein shall be lengthened or shortened as needed to ter-
minate at the South Line of Section 25 and the northerly
line of the New Horizon 2 permit boundary respectively.
Bearings are based upon the south line of the
southwest quarter of said Section 25 which is said to
