Technical Revision <br /> Tailings Pond No. 3 <br /> Mine Water Sludge Disposal Site <br /> Silverton Operations <br /> The following provisions will be adhered to for the use of the Tailings Pond <br /> No. 3 area for a permanent insitu mine water sludge disposal site: <br /> 1. The construction of primary and secondary surface runoff control ditches <br /> adjacent to the disposal site. See map. <br /> 2. The construction of access road around the top of the impoundment to <br /> the dump jetty. See map. <br /> 3. The construction of an earthen fill jetty. This will serve as the sludge <br /> dumping point. See map. <br /> 4. The installation of a decant tower to remove any related sludge waters, <br /> precipitation or unforeseen seepage waters entering the impoundment. <br /> This decant system will plumb waters to the existing active Tailings <br /> Pond No. 4 pipeline and all waters will eventually be discharged through <br /> the permitted (NPDES) pond No. 4 outfall. See map. <br /> 5. The boundary staking of the existing standing waters on the Tailings <br /> Pond No. 3 site. See map. <br /> 6. The insitu burial of all existing Town of Silverton refuse on the Tailings <br /> Pond No. 3 site. <br /> 7. The construction of a roadway gate to alleviate any further dumping of <br /> public refuse on the site. <br /> 8. The maintenance of all components at the Tailings Pond No. 3 site. <br /> 9. The sealing of the existing (old)decant tower with cement. <br /> 10. The final reclamation of the Tailings Pond No. 3 site by the insitu <br /> burial (capping) of the dry sludge material with approximately two (2) <br /> feet of suitable earthen material. <br /> 11. The revegetation of the entire site with approximately 20 lbs PLS per <br /> acre of appropriate grass and forb species. <br />
