Compliance With Mine Plan <br />N - Support Facilities Not On -site <br />R - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />N - Processing Waste <br />N - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />INTRODUCTION: - This was a partial inspection of the Keenesburg Strip Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of <br />the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety on August 16, 2012. Mr. Donald MacDonald and <br />Danny Kipp of Coors Energy Company were present for the inspection. The weather conditions were sunny, <br />warin, and dry. There was a light breeze. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION — Rule 4.17: <br />Compost was being spread by a manure spreader and a front end leader was leading the spreader during <br />the inspection (photo 1). Three piles of coal ash were in the pit ready for spreading. No fugitive dust was noted <br />onsite or off. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination <br />4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.143; Stabilization of Rills and <br />Gullies 4.14.6: <br />Coal ash was piled in the B -Pit ready for spreading and cover fill (photo 2). The direction B -Pit is being <br />back -filled has changed. It was being back -filled from the southern end to the north. It is now being filled from <br />the western side of the pit to the eastern side. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4, Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Sediment pond 2 was dry, the vegetation in the bottom was recently mowed and the sediment/water gauge <br />was in place (photo 3).
