INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2 <br /> FILE NO. M-77-378 <br /> DATE: February 11 and 12, 1986 <br /> OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE: <br /> 1 . On February 11 , 1986, Sunnyside Gold Corporation representatives: Douglas <br /> Murray, William Speer, Gregory Sparks and the Division's representatives: Ed <br /> Bischoff, Camille Farrell , and Karen Hellner met to discuss the forthcoming <br /> amendment to the above-captioned operation. <br /> 2. An April , 1986 submittal addressing changes to the current permit, which <br /> will be implemented this field season, and a comprehensive review of long term <br /> projects to be implemented, was discussed. <br /> Short term projects requiring immediate attention include, but are not limited <br /> to: <br /> A. Trash disposal at the American Tunnel (including underdrain) Terry <br /> Tunnel , and the Mayflower Mill sites; <br /> B. Structural design and stability certification for the Tailings Pond <br /> number 3 sludge disposal site. Additional analyses of the sludge <br /> material and tailings composition was discussed; <br /> C. Financial warranty evaluation to assure adequate coverage of all the <br /> disturbance, requiring reclamation; and, <br /> D. Waste water treatment amendments. <br /> 3. Long term issues requiring consideration include, but are not limited to: <br /> A. Lake Emma: baseline hydrologic, soil , vegetation, and climate <br /> information; mining plan; reclamation plan including hydrologic balance <br /> reconstruction plans, site stability certification, revegetation, etc. ; <br /> B. Long term sludge disposal procedures; <br /> C. Tailings pile reclamation: final configuration, drainage <br /> configuration, revegetation, etc. ; <br /> D. Correlation of present and proposed underground workings to surface <br /> topography and the hydrologic system; <br /> E. Tailings deposition site for future operations; <br /> F. Possible relocation of Mine facilities (Mill , waste-water treatment, <br /> tailings deposition, sludge and trash disposal , etc. ) to Eureka; and, <br /> G. Final Reclamation Plans for the entire site. <br />
