Response, Comment 55
See Response, Comments 39 and 41.
Response, Comment 56
See Response, Comment 17.
Response, Comment 57
Noise abatement equipment is being installed by CWI in response to
complaints to the company by some local residents adjacent to the
Orchard Valley Mine. Since the noise emitted by the equipment at
the mining operation is within standards, the company is not in
violation of regulation or law. Instead, the company is responding
to a complaint by neighbors of noise that is low in intensity, but
considered an unwanted intrusion into private lives. For this
reason noise was considered to be of social significante, not of
significance in itself due to violation of regulations or law.-
Noise emitted by transportation would not increase in intensity.
The duration of the noise would increase from eight hours per day
to sixteen hours per day. As pointed out, inflation does in fact
affect everyone, particularly if their wages are not increasing at
a rate equal to or greater than the rate of inflation.
Response, Comment 62
See Response, Comment 30.
Response, Comment 63
The environmental analysis consideres this applicant's proposal in
a set of alternatives. The deletion of Special: Stipulation 30c
would not affect the applicability of the Standard Stipulations or
Special Stipulation that were attached to the Lease C-27432 for
