Notice of 112d -1 Designated Mining Operations Reclamation Permit Application <br />Consideration — Start Mine Operations, LLC, Revenue Mine, File No. M -2012 -032 <br />To: Star Mine Operations Representative(s) <br />The County has received the notification letter regarding underground extraction of <br />hardrock materials and reclamation proposed to occur at the Revenue Mine, at /near <br />Section 21, Township 43N, Range 8W, 10th Prime Meridian in Ouray County, Colorado. <br />The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge receipt of your notification and to address <br />County regulations and interests in this type of activity. As you are probably aware, <br />Underground Mining is a use -by -right in Ouray County and is defined in Section 22 of <br />the Land Use Code as: <br />The development or extraction of a mineral from its natural occurrences on affected land. <br />The term includes, but is not limited to, open mining and surface operation and the <br />disposal of refuse from underground and in situ mining. The term includes the following <br />operations on affected lands: transportation; concentration, milling; evaporation; and <br />other processing. <br />If planned activities are limited to and fall directly within the definition above, no Special <br />Use Permit or other county permitting is required. Please be aware that erection of any <br />new structures or modification /maintenance of existing structures will require issuance <br />of a building permit prior to commencing construction or maintenance. <br />As with all mining activities, the County would like to strongly encourage the following: <br />- Limiting vehicle traffic, especially large or oversized vehicles, on heavily <br />traveled tourist roads during the summer /daytime hours <br />- Routing of haul traffic away from residential and recreation areas <br />111 Mall Rd.
