Mr. Astemborski
Page 16
August 2, 2012
29. The owners of permanent man -made structures have been identified based on the copies of
the damage waiver agreements which were submitted. Please provide the Division with a list
of the structure owners and the associated structures.
6.5 Geotechnical Stability Report
30. The Division has reviewed the Geotechnical Stability Report provided by AEG Consultants
and has found that the submittal does not address the requirements of Rule 6.5. The report
should include any boring data which was used to characterize the on -site soil properties. The
Applicant may also use the Division's standard soil strength parameters (copy enclosed) if
boring data is not available. In addition, the stability analysis needs to account for loading on
the slopes, i.e., stockpiles, buildings, fuel tanks, etc.
This concludes the Division's preliminary adequacy review of this application. Please remember
that the decision date for this application is August 22, 2012. As previously mentioned, if you are
unable to provide satisfactory responses to any inadequacies prior to this date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of time to allow for continued review of this
application. If there are still unresolved issues when the decision date arrives and no extension
has been requested, the application will be denied.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303)866 -3567 x8116.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Cunni4igham
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosures (2)
CC: Tom Kaldenbach, DRMS
Stephanie Carter, BLM
