CITY OF LAS ANIMAS <br />L.A. MINE <br />Exhibit C — Mining Plan <br />(Revised 7/25/12) <br />The timetable for each stage is estimated to between 1 -2 years with the size of the <br />area being mined to be a maximum of 2 acres. Each stage of production will <br />conform with the directional pattern as set forth in the mining plan map. <br />One (1) to two (2) acres of the permitted area will be worked at each stage of <br />operations. Material will be transported to City of Las Animas abandoned sewer <br />lagoon cell. <br />Mining will consist of sand with the mining depth being an average of four (4) to <br />eight (8) feet to depth of existing field to the south. Approximately 6" of topsoil <br />will be salvaged and stockpiled at southwest corner of permitted area as noted on <br />Exhibit E- Mining Plan Map for reseeding. Area of stockpile will be <br />90'x90'x 1 .5'. Overburden or sage brush (all organic plant material) material will <br />be stockpiled adjacent to topsoil stockpile. There is no rock product in this sand <br />material. Disturbed area will be incorporated into the reseeding plan. <br />Mining and earth moving will be done entirely by front -end loader. Entrance to <br />mining area is located on Southwest corner of property on County Road CC and is <br />in good condition. <br />No water will be used for the mining operation with all mining being conducted <br />well above the water table. <br />When excavating, if refuse, acid or toxic producing material are exposed the City <br />will refer to state regulations on how to dispose of materials. <br />The extracted materials will be used for the City of Las Animas pipe bedding <br />materials. <br />No explosives will be used in the mining process. <br />
