CITY OF LAS ANIMAS <br />L.A. MINE <br />Exhibit D — Reclamation Plan <br />(Revised 7/25/12) <br />The present vegetation on site will yield enough forage to support two (2) cows <br />for fifty (50) acres. The reclamation plan we follow will provide a range <br />condition which will be at least equal to that which existing previous to any <br />mining. <br />The depth of blow sand material at this site is approximately four (4) to eight (8) <br />feet to existing elevation of adjacent pasture field. Material will be excavated <br />with a front end loader and hauled off site to be stored at abandoned city lagoon <br />cell. Topsoil stockpile will be dispersed evenly over excavated area and <br />reseeding will be implemented as necessary for adequate vegetation to be <br />established. <br />The gradient will be level with existing field. The excavation will be done in <br />sections and will not have any overburden stockpiles. <br />Seeding will commence after removal of blow sand. The plant variety to be used <br />will be as the recommendation of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service (dryland <br />pasture mix), as follow: <br />Blue grama <br />Indian ricegrass <br />Sideoats grama <br />Sand dropseed <br />Western wheatgrass <br />All blow sand that we are excavating will be to the level of existing adjacent <br />pasture field. <br />To control weed growth at site, weeds will be sprayed as needed with herbicides. <br />Average rainfall is 12" or less. <br />There are no ponds or structures. Purgatoire River is a mile to one and one half <br />miles from mining area. There is a residential home within one fourth (1/4) to <br />one half (1/2) mile of site. This is a very rural area. <br />
