The slope is well vegetated and no signs
of instability or erosion were visible.
FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18:
Deer and pronghorn were observed throughout the mine site during the time of the inspection.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,
4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring
4.05.13; Drainage —Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18
The mine facility area was inspected for proper site drainage. Facility benches drain south and east where runoff is
collected by surrounding ditches and directed north into a passive vegetative buffer before reaching ponds 5 -P3 or
5 -P1 and 5 -P2 for final discharge. Due to little or no precipitation, ponds 5 -P 1, 5 -P2 and 5 -P3 are dry with no
discharge. The ponds are well vegetated and embankments remain stable.
The Mine No. 5 dewatering pump was not operating at the time of the inspection. Ponds 5 -P5, 5 -P6 and 5 -P7 all
held minimal water with no discharge. All embankments of Ponds 5 -P5, 5 -P6 and 5 -P7 were stable and well
vegetated. The knapweed patches noted in previous inspections has been sprayed. The weed spraying appears to
be effective in the area. Jerry Nettleton mentioned a contractor has been contacted to perform maintenance to the
rodent holes along the embankments.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 2 of 4
