Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N - Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste R -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> INTRODUCTION-This was a complete inspection of the Keenesburg Strip Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of <br /> the Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety on July 19,2012. Mr. Donald MacDonald and Danny <br /> Kipp of Coors Energy Company were present for the inspection. The weather conditions were sunny,hot, and <br /> dry. The wind was calm. <br /> AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17: <br /> There were 4 truckloads of coal ash stacked in B Pit(photo 1). No heavy equipment was in operation at <br /> the time of the inspection. All coal ash from previous days deliveries were covered with backfill. There were no <br /> signs of fugitive dust on site or off. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> All required records were on file and available for review at the mine office. The records are well <br /> organized and easily accessible and no problems were noted with the records review. See the attached Availability <br /> of Records checklist. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original <br /> Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2,4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic <br /> Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Four truckloads of ash were in place to be backfilled and two more were expected in B-Pit(photo 2). No <br /> additional spoil was backfilled on top of the coal ash layer. A cap layer of Topsand B was being spread on the <br /> southwest corner of Area 25 to aid in the reclamation. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> Two mule deer were browsing on tree leaves.
