•
•

4.3.3.1.4 Coal Storage
This facility provides live storage of dewatered coal prior to its delivery by truck to the general
loading facility at Lacy, Colorado (appr. 3 miles west of Rifle). The structure is designed as a
temporary storage pad for as much as 35,000 tons of coal (Figure 4.2-3). All coal will be
removed regularly, reducing the risk of spontaneous combustion. The Lacy Loadout Facility was
removed from the permit by TR-014 in 1997.
4.3.3.1.5 Loadout Facility
The loading facility that was to be used by NCIG is located on the north side of the Colorado
River at Lacy, Colorado, approximately 3 miles west of Rifle, Colorado. The Lacy Loadout
facility was part of an existing industrial park (Clough Industrial Park) owned and operated by the
Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad Company (D&RG).
No activity occurred at the loadout facility other than the installation of a monitoring well that has
since been reclaimed. The Lacy Loadout Facility was removed from the permit by TR-014 in
1997.
NCIOLoeI Ridge No. I
4-26
1?J1?J96
