anticipated slurry volume and the pipe material will be selected on
• the basis of durability and compatibility with t}~e slurry. The
pipe will be supported by at least two steel towers between the
portal bench and the dewatering plant, depending upon the strength
of the selected pipe material. The pipe grade will be nearly
horizontal between the portal bench and the dewatering building.
9.3.3.1.2 Crusher
NCIG intends to use a roll crusher as a coal breaker. The crusher
receives the plus 2 1/2 inch size product from the screening
circuit. The coal will be transported from the crusher to the raw
coal storage pile.
4.3.3.1.3 Coal Washing Plant
In a hydraulic mine, the actual coal washing process begins at the
face. Rock and coal are presorted in the clearing and Pluming
process which transports the coal out of the mine. Some rock will
remain within the production face in shallow depressions in front
of the feeder breaker. Depressions will be intentionally made
and/or deepened to trap the denser rock material as the rock-coal
mixture moves towards the feeder breaker and into [he flumes.
If washing is required, NCIG has elected to wash only the coarse
material. Washability tests have shown that the "near gravity"
portion of the coal is very minimal (less than 2$) The finer
size, minus 1 1/9 inch will not be washed, but rather dewatered
with full recovery through filters or centrifugal dryers.
• NCIG - Coal Ridqe #1 4-25 ABC/1145/910509
Ti2-7
