3 1
October 1997 Monthly Report
Page 4
The index number for the October sample is calculated as follows:
Xi = 365
Xf = 399
Sf = 144
Ni=(Xi-Xf)/Sf
Ni=(365-399)/144
Ni= -0.24
The index number graph and updated reporting table are attached.
Evaluation of the normalized data:
The index value of -0.24 for October indicates that water
quality at the reference point was somewhat better than the
reference data set for the flow class. Additional evaluation
or monitoring is not planned since the index number for
October compares favorably with the data set.
A 12 period moving average graph is attached. The calculated
moving average value for October is +0. 896. This continues
the favorable downward trend but as expected, the average
result is more than +0.577 and will continue to be until April
or May of 1998, even with good monthly index values.
If you have any questions on this report, please contact me.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information
submitted herein: and based on my
inquiry of those individuals
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation Manager
believe the submitted information
is true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment.
