January 1998 Monthly Report
Page 3
The index number graph and updated reporting table are attached.
Evaluation of the normalized data:
The index value of +0. 54 for January indicates that the
dissolved zinc concentration at the reference point A-72 was
higher than the mean of the reference data set for the flow
class. This result (+0.54) is not above the variance from the
mean that could be expected. In comparison to the results
from January, 1997, it is a 16% reduction in concentration
(695 ug/l compared to 586 mg/1) . This is a significant
improvement.
A 12 period moving average graph is attached. The calculated
moving average value for the normalized residual is +0. 786.
This is a decrease from the December 12-month average of
+0. 859 . The decreasing trend is positive and if this
continues, the 12-month average will be around the +0. 577
value in April or May.
If you have any questions on this report, please contact me.
I certify under penalty of law
that I have personally examined Sincerely,
and am familiar with the information
submitted herein: and based on my u, ta
inquiry of those individuals
immediately responsible for Larry Perino
obtaining the information, I Reclamation Manager
believe the submitted information
is true, accurate and complete.
I am aware that there are significant
penalties for submitting false
information, including the possibility
of fine and imprisonment.
