June 1998 Monthly and 2nd Quarter Report
Page 2
Progress pictures are included with this report for all of the
sites except the Gold Prince - Mill Tailings project. While it was
accessible, the site was snow covered and pictures were not taken.
The pictures were taken the last of June but it was still early for
vegetation especially at the Longfellow - Koehler site.
- Sunnyside Mine Pool Mitigation - Alkaline Solution Injection
This project was not active in June 1998 . The water pool pH, at
the American Tunnel bulkhead, on June 26, 1998, was 2 . 68 and the
bulkhead pressure was 351 psi.
Sunnyside will continue to monitor these parameters.
"B List" Projects
- Columbus Mine Portals -Mine Waste Dumps
- London Mine Portals - Waste Dumps
Work, permitting or arrangement for access is not planned until it
becomes evident that the work plans for these projects require
implementation.
- Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment
Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active
continuously throughout June. The flow of Cement Creek in
June remained at levels that required control on the water
treatment system inlet quantity. The flow diverted and treated
in June ranged from 1118 G.P.M. to 1153 G. P.M.
Attached are June, 1998 monitoring results for; dissolved
metals in the AT-004 discharge; Cement Creek diverted for
treatment (CC-1B) ; American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT-
INFEL) ; and Cement Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC-
20) .
Mainstem Stream Monitoring and Reference Point Stream
Monitoring
Sunnyside sampled the reference point (A-72) on June 10, 1998
and the three mainstem gaging stations (A68, M34 and C48) . The
sample results are attached.
fi
