This will require excavation below or at the water table which will require site dewatering. Sources of gravel material similar to the site material are being investigated for potential borrow to fill areas during final contour establishment where the water table is exposed during excavation. - Sunnyside Mine Pool Mitigation - Alkaline Solution Injection During the month of June, this project was inactive with no alkaline material or water being injected. The water pool pH at the American Tunnel bulkhead on June 30, 1997 was 3 .49 and the bulkhead pressure was 301 psi. Sunnyside will continue to monitor these parameters. Start of alkaline material injection into the mine pool for the 1997 construction season is tentatively planned for late July. - Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active continuously throughout June. Due to Cement Creek flow quantities, diverted flows for water treatment from Cement Creek were controlled throughout June. These treated flows ranged from 1049 GPM to 1118 GPM. Results for June monitoring samples of Cement Creek diverted for treatment (CC-1B) ; American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT-INFEL) ; dissolved metals analysis of the AT-004 discharge; and Cement Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC-20) had not been received by the date of this report and will be reported in the July report. Attached are dissolved metals analysis of the AT-004 discharge for June. - Tailings Pond No. 4 Progress pictures of the deposition area on Tailings Pond No. 4 are included with this report. - Mainstem Stream Monitoring and Reference Point Stream Monitoring Sunnyside sampled the reference point (A-72) , and the other three gaging stations; Cement Creek (C-48) , Mineral Creek (M-
