June 28, 2012 C- 1981 -038 /Bowie No. 1 Mine SB1
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing
Revegetation is doing well in most parts of the mine. Two exceptions are Zone 4 -C which has
sparse cover and Zone 2 -A where the dominant species is cheat grass. Treatment of the
cheatgrass with a pre- emergent may help get rid of it. The zone would then need to be re- seeded
with a perennial mix. The application of the cheatgrass treatment should be conducted under the
guidance and recommendations of the Delta County Weed Manager.
Several large patches of thistle were observed in Zone 4 -B. These should be sprayed this
summer. White top was observed in a couple of locations. Continued treatment of that species
is necessary.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 5 of 9
