March 1997 Monthly/1st Quarter Report <br /> Page 2 <br /> Columbus Mine Portals - Mine Waste Dumps <br /> This is a "B List" project. Therefore, no work, permitting or <br /> arrangement for access is planned until it becomes evident <br /> that the work plan for this project requires implementation. <br /> Surface Mill Tailings at Eureka <br /> No work was done on this project in March or the 1st Quarter <br /> Of 1997 due to snow-cover. As a result, no progress pictures <br /> were taken. <br /> The determination on whether additional work is required will <br /> be made after snow clears and a inspection can be made in the <br /> spring. <br /> Gold Prince - Mill Tailings <br /> No work was done on this project in March or the 1st Quarter <br /> of 1997 due to snow-cover and loss of access for the winter. <br /> As a result, site progress pictures were not taken. <br /> Implementation of the amended work plan is planned for the <br /> 1997 construction season and will begin with completion of the <br /> portal bulkhead. The interior bulkhead was completed in 1996. <br /> The Consent Decree has now been amended to include this <br /> project as modified. <br /> Ransom Tunnel <br /> The amended permit and included work plan for this project <br /> became effective in February, 1997. <br /> Implementation of the work plan for this project has been <br /> planned for April, 1997. Preremediation site photographs are <br /> attached to this report. <br /> The Consent Decree has now been amended to include this <br /> project. <br /> - Longfellow - Koehler Mine Waste Project <br /> During the month of March, an additional 3864 cubic yards of <br /> lake sediments and mine waste were hauled from the Koehler- <br /> Longfellow complex to Sunnyside Gold Corporation's Tailings <br /> Pond #4. This brings the total yardage hauled for the 1st <br /> Quarter to 14 , 158 cubic yards and total project to date <br /> yardage to 32,103 cubic yards. <br />
