Pre-pour Inspection 2 June 30, 1997
Ransom Portal Inspection Date 6/16/97
SGC Mine Remediation Project DMG File M-77-378
air side form. Forms were well braced with 2.5" drill pipe. Drill pipes were secured to
angle iron, angle iron were bolted to resin bolts.
Distance between interior form faces was 8'1 ". Temperature and shrinkage rebar cage
was constructed of #6 rebar (6/8" diameter) on 18" centers. Structural rebar cage was
constructed of #10 rebar (10/8" diameter) on 8" centers. Rebar cages were spliced to
resin bolts. Rebar members of cages were continuous, splice were observed only to resin
bolt anchors. Horizontal and vertical rebar members were secured to one-another by wire
wrap at intersections. Rebar cages were spaced 3.5" from interior face of concrete
forms, no rebar or splice wires were observed in contact with face of concrete forms.
Tunnel dimensions at bulkhead location was approximately 10'x 10'.
Location of rebar were recorded on face of air side concrete form to ensure grout drilling
not encounter rebar. Operator stated that approximately 7 days following pour, concrete
has cured sufficiently to allow drilling grout holes through face of bulkhead to bulkhead
contact with parent rock. Grout is then pumped to a minimum of 200 psi to ensure
adequate seal. Approximately 15 grout holes were marked.
(end of report)
cc: Allen Sorenson, DMG
Sarah Johnson, CDPHE WQCD
