Ms. Sarah Johnson
Gold Prince Project
Page 3
Proposal for Work Plan
To reconcile these concerns and still achieve all SGC permit '
releases, SGC will carry out the Gold Prince Work Plan as described
below.
(1) As described in SGC's letter of September 3 , 1996, SGC
will place two bulkheads within the Gold Prince No. 1
Level portal. These bulkheads will turn the flow of mine
discharge water to the Sunnyside Mine Pool and return the
near surface fracture flow water back to its natural flow
path within the surface fracture system.
(2) SGC will construct, utilizing the existing County Road
above the mine waste dumps, a runon diversion ditch to
divert surface flows around the site.
(3) SGC will consolidate the waste piles W-1 through W-6 into
the waste piles W-7 and W-8 (map attached) . Tailings
piles T-1 through T-3 will be entombed within the
consolidated waste piles W-7 and W-8. The top surface of
the consolidated material will be capped with overburden
material. For historical accommodation, the slopes of
the consolidated piles will be left uncapped and steep
resembling a historical mine dump. These slopes will
have a mostly non-reactive waste rock cover.
(4) SGC will amend, seed and fertilize areas where material
was moved.
(5) SGC will not disturb the midden piles, waste rock or
structures in the northern end of the townsite but will
divert the streamflow from crossing the waste pile
located next to the Hanson Mill remains. Overburden
cover will be obtained from the area under the enlarged
W-8 pile and County Road realignment.
(6) SGC will deed to San Juan County the four patented mining
claims; Hidden Treasure Sur. No. 5010, Pride of the
Rockies Sur. No. 7628, Protection Sur. No. 20003 , and
Doctor Mill Site Sur. No. 2093 .
