2 . 04 . 6 Geology Description
1. Comment The applicant must submit a structural
contour map and isopach map of each coal seam to be
mined.

2 . Comment The applicant must provide representative
geologic cross sections of the permit area.

3 . Comment The applicant has evidently done extensive
drilling on the permit area, but drill hole locations
and representative drill logs have not been included in
the application. The applicant must submit this
information.

4 . Comment A general geology map showing the structural
features of the area surrounding Coal Basin must be
submitted.

5. Comment The applicant must submit analyses of each of
the major strata to be mined through during construction
of the rock tunnel. Also, the one analysis of rock
tunnel waste submitted should be expanded to include
the required parameters . A list of required analyses
is attached. The parameters on the list are required
because no data exists on whether any of the elements
of the overburden chemical analysis may pose a problem
in this area. If analysis shows that the level of any
parameter will pose no problems, then this analysis may
be dropped from the required analyses for surface and
groundwater quality.
