General Comments
This was a partial inspection of the mine.
The Redstone Miner's Association is still on strike. There were very few people working
at the mine. At the time of the inspection, Doug Bowman was on the mountain ridge above
mine #5. He was doing some work on foot concerning subsidence locations. He was flown
up there by helicopter and we were unable to contact him. The receptionist sent a
security man out to try to contact him. The Vice-President told me that no one else
was available to accompany me on the inspection. I then conducted an inspection of the
office, processing area, refuse pile, and lower sediment control facilities. After
completing the inspection of these facilities, I returned to the office to see if contact
with Mr. Bowman had been made. He was still unavailable, so the inspection was terminated.
