A laborer(s) will be provided to accomplish erosion control work on the slopes adjacent to the <br /> roads at the direction of the PROJECT MANAGER. This work shall include cutting trees from <br /> near by areas, transporting and anchoring them to road side slopes and surfaces; digging <br /> trenches in consolidated and unconsolidated materials; transplanting shrubs in the vicinity o7the <br /> project area; anchoring shrub cuttings in gullies and on road slopes and surfaces; transporting <br /> and hand placing rock materials within gullies and at the outlets of some rolled dips; hand <br /> mulching and seeding as well as other miscellaneous activities. CONTRACTOR must provide <br /> appropriate hand tools and transportation in good working condition for laborer(s) to accomplish <br /> these miscellaneous erosion control projects. PROJECT MANAGER will provide specifications <br /> for specific laborer constructed structures at the time that the work is required. <br /> All work will be accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, of the <br /> "Standard Work Specifications, Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program", 1996. Any <br /> additional dozer, backhoe, and hand labor work which may arise will be covered under this task. <br /> The hours outlined in Item 7 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental. Payment <br /> will be made at the unit prices established in Item 7 of the Bid Schedule. The hours outlined in <br /> Item 7 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br /> PROJECT OBSERVATION <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER will be at the project site periodically to monitor construction <br /> activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design specifications. <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER will be available during regular business hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 <br /> P.M.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on weekend days or holidays without <br /> prior approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. It is the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to <br /> schedule inspections with the PROJECT MANAGER so as not to delay the work. The following <br /> items must be observed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER before proceeding with <br /> additional work: <br /> 1. Initiation and completion of culvert removal; <br /> 2. Initiation and completion of road grading and ripping on each road (B, C, D, Huntsman); <br /> 3. Initiation and completion of rolled dip construction; <br /> 4. Initiation and completion of low water crossing construction; <br /> 5. All final grades prior to beginning revegetation; <br /> 6. Initiation of scarification of Cut and Fill slopes adjacent to the roads; <br /> 7. All equipment rental and laborer hours. <br /> 17 <br />
