f Invitation and Bid at Task 4, Earthwork, ie: the average slope of the cut and fill areas must not exceed 2.4H : 1 V, no fill slope may be steeper than 2.3H : 1 V, no cut slope may be steeper than 2.4H : 1 V. Task 5; Topsoil Application and Surface Roughening: 1. Mulch will be applied at the rate of two (2) tons per acre over the entire cut and fill surface in conjunction with the surface roughening. 2. The entire cut and fill area will be roughened as described in the Specifications. 3. Upon completion of topsoil excavation from the Sutey Topsoil Pile, the excavated portion of the pile will be heavily scarified with the teeth of a track hoe. The area will be fertilized, seeded and mulched as per Task 7, Revegetation in October, 2001. Task 6; Shrub Planting: 1. Willow cuttings will be planted at the base of both the cut and of the fill slopes. 2. Willow bundles will be covered by one to two inches (1" to 2") of soil after they have been placed in the trenches at the base of the cut and fill slopes. Task 7; Revegetation: 1. Seedbed preparation is NOT required. Task 8; Tree Planting: 1. Trees will be planted half way up the inside of the gouges created during completion of Task 5; Topsoil Application and Surface Roughening. Trees will be planted on the most southerly portion of the gouges. A revised and renamed copy of Map 5 will be sent from Grand Junction Friday, June 1, 2001. The Map is now named "Idealized Post-Reclamation Topography". The map depicts the post reclamation topography of the cut and fill area. Note that the- - measurement for successful completion of Task 4, Earthwork, is construction of the cut and fill slopes to the specifications contained in that Task and as revised by this Amendment. All terms and conditions of the Invitation and Bid other than as changed by this amendment remain the same. Receipt and acceptance of this amendment must be acknowledged on the bid submittal form.
