Mid-Continent Resources, Inc.
PRODUCERS OF THE FAMOUS COAL BASIN COKING COAL
201 Centennial Street
MID-CONTINENT RESOURCES,INC.
yy
625 PLAINFIELD ROAD-SUITE 220 Suite 406 L-Telephone:
WILLOWBROOK,ILLINOIS 60521 Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601 (303)945-4958
JUL "; , I%a;
July 15, 1991
Dan Mathews
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman
Room 215
Denver, CO 80209
RE: TR-19. Mid-term review response. (C-81-017) .
Dear Mr. Mathews:
You have indicated that the proposed notice submitted with our
request for technical revision 19 to permit C-81-017 is incorrect
in specifying a time frame for public comment. Accordingly, I have
revised the notice. A copy is attached.
Your letter of July 10, 1991 requests that a separate technical
revision be submitted for small area exemptions. There are,
essentially, two categories to the small areas issue. One category
consists of those areas cited in NoV C-90-052 as having never been
approved; the second category, identified in the Division's
November 7, 1990 letter and the mid-term review, had been approved
previously, but the Division questions whether adequate
documentation has been submitted in support of those approvals.
Mid-Continent is addressing each of the two categories in separate
technical revisions.
A request for technical revision (TR-20) is being prepared and
will be submitted this week (i.e. by July 18) for areas identified
by NoV C-90-052 as requiring small area exemptions.
As to the second category, namely areas for which the Division
requires further documentation, Mid-Continent requests that such
documentation be considered as part of the Division's review of
Technical Revision 19. The issue was again addressed in the mid-
term letter, and as part of the TR-19 submittal, so this does seem
appropriate. Further information, including the correspondence and
supporting documentation which has been prepared to date, will be
compiled and submitted as a supplement to our request for Technical
Revision 19.
Yours truly, ` \
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Resources
