complete the reclamation of these outslopes. A front end loader, scraper
and a D-3 dozer were removing the topsoil near the northern end of the
pile. This topsoil was being placed on the outslopes of the pile and being
distributed according to the topsoil depth survey.
A walkaround of the entire area indicated that all ditches, ponds and
culverts were in good working order. A small spring that appeared in the
middle of the pile access road this spring had dried up. There was no
evidence of ponding or structural instability anywhere on the pile.
Rock Tunnel Waste DisRosai Facility
At the time of inspection, the Rock Tunnel Waste Pile was being utilized
only for the placement of cleanings from the lower ponds. A bermed area
was outlined and pond cleanings were being placed within the bermed area.
The southern interface between the tunnel pile and hillside was graded so
that there was a continuous ditch along the hillside, The lower section of
this interface had been blocked off last fall in order to construct a pond
cleaning disposal area.
The trash pile located due east of the tunnel waste pile was receiving
waste material from the mine.
A walkaround of the entire pile indicated that the clean water diversion
ditch needs some maintenance. Some material has sloughed into the ditch.
The clean water culvert located by the trash pile needs some maintenance
also. The inlet apron was torn free from the culvert. The lower ponds are
scheduled to be cleaned next week. All other site drainage structures
appeared to be in good shape.
There was no evidence of any structural instability anywhere on the pile.
I certify that the Coal Basin Sutey Coal Refuse and Rock Tunnel Waste
Disposal facilities have been inspected to the best of my abilities and are
in accordance with the designs approved by the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division.
 `COTS'•, fy .
CT g p'•.
:G
AL
James Sco , P.E.
