FROM Panasonic TAD/FAX PHONE NO. 9454958 Apr. 12 1994 05:12PM PO4
Mr. Mark Fuller
April 12, 1994
Page - 3
3.2 It is proposed that future use of the reclaimed mine
haul roads at least to the former Coal Basin townsite; possibly to
the No. 4 Mine site on the south side of Coal Basin; and possibly
to areas near the No. 1 Mine portal and No. 3 Mine portal be
reclaimed so as to permit limited vehicular access. If the
County/USFS can provide limited public maintenance on these
roadways, then they should be open to the public.
On the other hand, if County/Forest Service maintenance
is not available on these mine haul roads, or on the roadway from
Redstone to the Preparation Plant, then alternative arrangements
should be considered.
MCR has suggested the formation of a corporation in the
nature of a homeowners association with authority to levy
assessments against members for road maintenance with the
inducement of having restricted access, particularly on the former
mine haul roads.
4.0 Sale of Tract 2.
MCR suggests sale of Tract 2 to a private owner or
owners. With the clean water flowing from the mine; the series of
ponds nearby; the existing water system, electrical installation,
parking areas, roadways, and the lamphouse building, the property
offers an ideal situation for a resort development with limited
cabin site sales appurtenant thereto, and with commons areas made
available for purchasers.
This is in lieu of offering the property for sale in over
35 acre tracts.
5.0 Reclamation planning:
Mr. Greg Lewicki, an engineer with extensive reclamation
experience, has prepared plans for road reclamation, reclamation
of mine benches and other work.
